| Three-in-One Combined Alarm Offers Mainstream
Protection with Expanded Functions for Heightened
Reliability. |
| New Cosmos
Electric developed the world's first residential
gas alarm in 1964. Since then, we have developed
many products such as three-in-one alarms to detect
gas leakage, incomplete combustion and fire, as well
as battery-operated gas alarms for bulk supply systems.
We engage in ongoing development and improvement
to meet the evolving needs of the times with advances
in such areas as voice synthesis alarms, power saving
and design enhancements. In addition, we have developed
such added functions as expiration notification,
malfunction alarms, and post-activation confirmation
of which alarm was triggered, to assure that this
essential safety equipment will perform reliably, protecting life and property in the event
of an emergency. |

New Law Mandates Installation of Home Fire Alarms in Japan.
Five-Year Maintenance-free Products Further Enhance Safety. |
|
Home fires have taken a growing toll in lives and property in recent years in Japan. Failure to escape is the number one cause of death in such fires, with elderly residents often among the victims. To improve this situation, the Fire Services Act was amended to require the installation of fire alarms in private homes beginning in June 2006. Drawing on expertise accumulated as the leader in gas alarms, New Cosmos Electric has developed smoke-detection fire alarms in addition to conventional combined alarms with heat detection. These new smoke-detection alarms are battery operated and provide an effective life of five years with no maintenance. They are loaded with features, such as loud voice alarms for the elderly, malfunction alarms, and dead battery notification. They are designed to provide optimal protection, not only in the kitchen, but also in bedrooms, stairs, and hallways and throughout the home. |
